History
Jeremy Hutson is a well-established private guitar instructor serving the Quarryville area since 1997. As the owner of his home-based business, “Solanco Guitar Studios,” He has taught hundreds of students in the southern Lancaster County area. With a full load of students, some of whom have studied with him for many years, Mr. Hutson is one of only a few full-time professional private instructors in the Lancaster, PA region. Due to this level of dedication to our community, he is able to promote a higher standard of excellence in private guitar instruction for a significantly lower cost.  Mr. Hutson is a member of the Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT) and the Lancaster Music Teachers Association (LMTA), the local chapter of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).

In order to provide the best service to our clients, this business does not handle retail sales, and focuses on providing excellent quality music education, live classical guitar music, and recording services to southern Lancaster County.

With an emphasis on offering “Better lessons for less,” Mr. Hutson has developed a low cost tuition program, and a pre-planned yearly schedule that offers students and their parents the flexibility necessary for their busy schedule combined with structure not found elsewhere. In addition, the tuition policy no longer requires a 24 hour notice for make up eligibility with all students offered the opportunity to be eligible for one make up lesson per quarter, with time off scheduled around holidays.

Solanco Guitar Studios is conveniently located adjacent to Huffnagle Park. A large waiting room area compliments the studio’s comfortable, yet professional atmosphere. Adequate parking is available at the studio, or from within a short walking distance. All styles and levels are taught with an emphasis on learning the "right way" while allowing the student to develop an original style suited to their taste in music and learning capacity. All aspects of music may be covered as required; including: theory, history, technique, fret board theory, song-writing and improvisation, and ear training (learning by "ear"). Current students are also eligible to receive a discount on digital audio recording at the instructor’s home studio.

Tuition will be paid at the beginning of the month for the number of scheduled lessons during each month.  All students are required to pay on time, no exceptions.

Remember that you are paying for the teacher to hold your time slot for you.  If you have to miss a lot, you will probably not be able to make up all those lessons.  If you are unwilling to pay for unused time, you should consider waiting until a time when you can attend regularly.  Solanco Guitar Studios seeks serious, regular students.  No private instructor will offer extensive make ups, and most have a very strict make up policy.  Solanco Guitar Studios offers flexibility while maintaining an adequate level of consistency for both the student and instructor.  Full time private music instructors openly and gladly offer their knowledge and services to the community, but still teach to make a living.

Discounts: No registration fee! Already low monthly tuition offers those who attend regularly a lower effective per lesson rate, and places the responsibility for attendance on the students and/or the parent(s). Most professional private music instructors are unable to offer excessive make up lessons for sports, vacations, etc (see below), however Solanco Guitar Studios offers every student one make up lesson per quarter if necessary.  Students who wish to book recording time may do so at a discounted rate.

Cancellation Policy: No 24 hour notice, but prior notice must be given for make up eligibility. No notice or notification occurring after the missed lesson is considered a no show with no make up.  No exceptions.  Up to 4 make ups a year with a maximum of one per quarter. No roll-overs. A standard two week notice is required for students stopping their lessons. Students must pay for the remaining two weeks, if necessary, and may attend both lessons.  Please visit our legal page and read the lesson policy
